Being the "church" involves far more than just coming together... it also involves
going out together. Our church desires to make a practical difference in the lives of others right here in our community. We want to put our faith in action and help the many who we rub shoulders with every day. Get involved on September 28 and make it happen. Love God, love people. Jesus tells us that everything boils down to those two things. That’s what it’s all about. It's pretty simple, really. What better way to do both through “Compassion In Action” Sunday.
On Sunday September 28th, church will be a bit different from normal. There still will be worship services but we really encourage everybody to have church that day by serving the community. Don’t just go to church, be the church. There will be a number of different opportunities to go into the community and live out your faith in a very practical way. You can participate in those that have been planned or come up with you own. Although there will not be Sunday school for elementary age children, youth or adults on that day, there will be childcare provided for birth through three years old. If you’re project happens in the morning, feel free to drop your young kids and go out and serve. Check it out the list of projects here:
How Can I Help with Compassion in Action 2008?(Others may be added at later dates, so feel free to stop back again and see what is happening on that day.)
