/files/Fellowship/Patrick's Blanket Chest (2).JPGIn August of 1997, the Carlisle BIC Church established a unique ministry.  The Trustees authorized use of a 30’ x 30’ area in the new garage.  A group of interested woodworkers defined and then designed what is now known as The Woodshop.  Equipment was procured and the shop became operational.

This Woodshop exists for the benefit of the following reasons:

  1. The Groundskeeper and Volunteers - As projects are needed/files/Financial/chair.jpg around the premises and as defined by the church trustees,
  2. Adult Woodworkers - As workers who produce personal projects, items for Christian bazaars, and/or who teach or learn from mini-seminars on special techniques, etc.,
  3. The Messiah Village’s Adult Daycare Center - As spectators (and/or limited workers - under direct supervision),
  4. Youth - As spectators and/or workers (under direct supervision of their leaders),
  5. Other Interested and Aspiring Woodworkers - From among the church’s own youth group, the congregation at large,

The group has a formal meeting every Tuesday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, as well as a meeting on the second Saturday of every month from (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM)...

but guys (and ladies!) may be found in the Woodshop anytime.

/files/Fellowship/Wheelbarrow - Wert's.JPGBesides producing things for the church, the Woodshop serves as a neat outreach tool to the community because anyone is welcome to use the shop to work on their own projects. Some of the items we have produced and crafted in the past include: beds, tables, armoires, night stands and wishing wells...picture frames, bird houses and dog caskets. In fact, if you can think of it, we've probably done it!

Please feel free to come at any time and join the group, the fun and the fellowship of working in our Woodshop.
