The J.O. Lehman Retreat is located at 379 Longs Gap Road, Carlisle, PA 17013. For directions please click the link at the bottom of this page.
The Lehman Retreat has been used as a spiritual refuge and a place of encouragement and fellowship for over 50 years. This nearly 5 acre rolling parcel is nestled nicely next to the Conodoquinet Creek and was once a part of the Lehman Farm.
Carl and Isabel Lehman gave this land to the Brethren in Christ Church on
March 2, 1962 and a beautiful pavilion was later built and dedicated on Fathers Day of 1976.
This land has since been used for services, seasonal church gatherings, picnics, retreats, camping trips, baptisms, and church gatherings of many other sorts.
The Carlisle BIC Youth almost exclusively use these facilities for games, meetings and spiritual renewal times throughout the not-so-lazy months of summer.
Although this site is well known to those who have been in
the church for some time, visitors can expect to find swings, slides, and places to climb and hide for small children.
The J.O. Lehman Retreat also offers a large pavilion and grilling area for large gatherings throughout the summer, as well as a basketball court and spacious green areas for running and playing, tenting and simply walking.
The Conodoquinet Creek offers a perfect place for Believer's Baptisms during the warm months of the year, and the Lehman Retreat's generous acreage is ideal for all-church gatherings.
Whether you are new to the church, or were here to help build the pavilion, the Lehman Retreat will be sure to leave you wanting more and eagerly planning your next visit.
