Mississippi Katrina Relief
Camp Hope, Vancleave, MS

Ministry:  Hurricane Katrina recovery effort.
Cost:  $ 275 (the cost can be defrayed by participating in the annual Youth Dinner Theatre).  Sign up forms (available on the ROCK bulletin board) and $50 deposit are due by April 1st
Adults Needed:  As required by the U.M.C.'s "Safe Sanctuary Guidelines" we must have 1 adult for every 3 students. An adult is defined as someone 25 or older.
Age requirements:  Students must turn 14 by June 14 to participate
Transportation: Travel by vans
Facilities: Camp Hope is a large multipurpose building containing dormitories with bunk beds, showers, restrooms and a warehouse. The kitchen and Fellowship Hall of Vancleave UMC are used to provide breakfast and dinner throughout your stay and a place to gather for fellowship during the evening. The Vancleave volunteers will provide you with linens, pillows and blankets for your beds and towels for showering. Whole group devotions, both morning and evening, are
a vital part of your mission experience.

 Priority 1 Ministries"

Dates:  July 13 to 18
Host ministry:  Priority 1 Ministry in the Bronx
Ministry:  Inner-city (Urban) teams will involve one-week commitments for Senior High youth groups. Teams will have opportunity to conduct children's Bible clubs/ VBS in the Bronx, New York City. Priority 1 staff will coordinate their ministry with the host ministry and will assist in preparing teams for their Bible clubs. Priority 1 will provide training and all materials for youth groups prior to time of service./files/youth pictures/bronx.jpg  During the week, there will be other opportunities for ministry including: serving lunch to disadvantaged families at a “love kitchen”; volunteering at a World Vision Storehouse and doing a prayer walk. 
Cost:  $ 290.00 (the cost can be defrayed by participating in the annual Youth Dinner Theatre). Sign-up forms (available on the ROCK bulletin board) and $50 deposit are due by April 1st
Age requirements:  Students completing 9th through 12th grades
Adults Needed:  We need 1 adult leader for every 5 youth and 1 cook for every 15 team members. 
Transportion:  Travel by vans
Facilities:  We are staying at the Urban Discipleship Center in the Bronx.

TIMS – Juniata County Work Camp

Date: July 20 to 26
Host ministry:  Teens In Missionary S
ervice
Ministry: Juniata County Work Camps provide ministry for individuals and youth groups to do service oriented projects for widows and economically or physically disadvantaged homeowners.
Students will do minor house repairs to homes in the area around the Christian Retreat Center in East Waterford, PA where the students will be based.  During lunch time devotions, project crews have the opportunity to share the gospel with client families.  During the week, there is also free time to enjoy the 140 foot waterslide, beach volleyball, basketball and
other /files/youth pictures/home.jpgrecreational activities at the retreat center. 
Cost: Will be about $320 (the cost can be defrayed by participating in the annual Youth Dinner Theatre).  Sign up forms (available on the ROCK bulletin board) and $50 deposit are due by April 1st.
Age requirements:  Any student is able to participate. This is a good first missions and service project for junior high students.
Transportation:  Travel by vans
Adults Needed: We need 1 adult leader for every 5 youth and 1 cook for every 15 team members.
Sleeping Arrangements: Cabins at Christian Retreat Center
