"Care" is a complicated word and a huge goal for any organization, especially a church. Every year we wrestle with how to best care for the many needs of a growing congregation. The best and most complete approach for us is to assist in the training and equipping of leaders to build groups and teams that will care and support one another.
At Carlisle Brethren in Christ Church we organically give room for people to create and care for one another individually and in supported home groups or service teams. There are many ways we find one another...through common goals, passions, life stages, service projects, life circumstances, or by simply bumping into one another at a weekend service. We hope and pray that everyone will find someone or some-others to experience a common journey toward Christ.
We also programmatically support our Small Groups throughout the year. We plan Sunday School Classes so that committed adults can find one another. And we keep the congregation connected by providing and sharing common prayers throughout the week.
We also provide and facilitate Support Groups. We have opportunities like GriefShare and the Stephen Ministry where we can help and counsel people individually and in group sharing moments. We also have a vital Hospital Visitation and Aftercare Ministry where we have the priviledge of walking alongside others in their moments of pain and heartache and are able to witness the power of God through changed and transformed lives.
If you have any suggestions to help us facilitate better care, or if you need to find assistance for yourself or a loved one please e-mail our Pastor of Congregational Care, Linda Lambert.
