Our congregation's Stephen Ministry equips lay people to provide confidential, one-to-one Christian care to individuals who are experiencing difficulty in their lives. This ministry exists for the congregation as well as the community at large.
These are some of the needs we are currently helping to meet:

Homebound or isolated individuals

The hospitalized or recently discharged

Those facing serious or terminal illness

People who are experiencing major adjustments in their jobs, careers or residency

Residents of long-term care facilities

Those facing difficult decisions on future care of aging parents and/or spouses

Experiencing loss of family members due to death, school, military assignment, marriage or divorce.

Prisoners, ex-offenders and their families

Households experiencing birth or adoption

Those in spiritual crisis
A Stephen Minister is a committed Christian who expresses God's care through their lives to others; receives 50 hours of initial training in important care skills and concepts; are commissioned as Stephen Ministers after completing their initial training; visit another person regularly and dependably and offer Christian support and care; participate in regular support and supervision under the guidance of trained Stephen Leaders; are committed to preserving the confidential nature of the caring relationship; serve for at least two years; and receives continuing education and skill building throughout their years of service.
