We believe in the Bible which is demonstrated by the central focus we place on the words we find there as essential for daily guidance and eternal life.
We believe in People as demonstrated by the way we strive to love, value and honor all people equally regardless of their distance from Him.
We believe in Transformation as demonstrated by our patience with all people wherever they may find themselves on the journey towards Christ, as we ask others to gently guide us as well.
We believe in Community as demonstrated by our emphasis on encouraging all people to find significant relationships of grace, love, acceptance, integrity and authenticity as the desired method of experiencing the journey closer to God.
We believe in Servanthood as demonstrated by teaching all to live simple and minimal material lives so that we can give more generously in fulfilling the practical needs of a local community and a world beyond.
We believe in Relevance as demonstrated by an active and loving witness to our community through culturally relevant relationships and worship services
Our Mission
We exist to help people come to a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Strategy
We believe that we are being shaped and transformed. We have not, nor will we ever, become. God is revealing Himself to us in bits and pieces and so we strive to "move the ball" ten yards at a time here at Carlisle Brethren in Christ.
We ask all people to journey together towards Christ. As we accomplish this goal as individuals and small groups and teams, the church as an organization moves as well.
Our strategy therefore is a moving target. Our forefathers of this church would have had some differing strategies then the ones we hold today while still striving to accomplish the same ultimate goal:
"To be a community of Christ-following worshippers that partner with God in the ministry of reconciliation."
Today God is calling us to reach people by being ever more authentic and transparent in our worship services and with one another.
We strive to be a welcoming and safe community for all people of all ages.
We have a heartfelt compassion for all people of all races and that is bourne out in our missional approach to living and calling others to live as well.
We are strongly commited to the Bible as God's Word while realizing that there is much room for discussion, interpretation and application in the timeless stories found therein.
We value relationships because we know that we cannot make an impact on the community or even find significance outside of journeying with others who are like-minded, so we encourage all people to gather in smaller groups to share life and pastor to one another.
Our ultimate strategy is to find God and then join Him in what He is doing in our community and in the world.
